Brief Review
This novel chronicles the life of a girl that was abandoned by her parents on the front steps of an apartment building at 4 years old to save her from a Romanian Fascist group's Nazi instigated anti semitic progrom during world war 2. She was adopted and her adoptive parents loved and protected her only to again fall into dangerous times as the soviets took over Romania. Her hardships did not end with the war but persisted until she escaped to the west, aided by her birth parents in her adult years.
A positive story of the triumph of humanity through evil times.
